Help for jet owners and air charter operators.

NO ONE LOVES UPDATING

Our lives have become filled with more usernames and passwords than we can track. It seems that every vendor, marketing venue or tool on the Internet requires us to participate in the confines of a username and password, the necessity to login and then take some of our time.

Guilty as charged…

Sites like RSVPair.com (yes, where technically I “work”) actually rewards Professional Members more for the frequency of updates. In other words, despite the fact that we recognize that everyone is fighting for your time, we’re asking for a little of it too. And we’re asking for it for what is the most painfully valid reason - those who will fly with you (or choose you as aircraft manager) are more likely to do so if you have (seemingly) current and helpful information.

Are we cruel? No. Passionate? Yes.

Since technically we work for passengers and website users too, we need to be certain that firms that pay get the maximum ROI they are entitled too. Our best customers update frequently and do so knowing that they can tie a direct line of growth in new business to the frequency with which they visited their operator page, logged in, hit “UPDATE FLEET” - for a quick bulk refresh, or … actually took the time to enter the updated fuel surcharge, posted an empty leg, etc. for the prospective admins, passengers, etc. to see.

So, what do I do now?

If you are a Pro or Basic Member, take the time to login and update (more on how to do that here or take some time to schedule an editing lesson if you need a refresher.)

Also, consider these three elements as reasons to justify your 5 minutes per month updating your info with us:

#1 - Fresh Data = Higher Importance to a booking prospect. When you update your info, it raises your tail #’s and fleet to the top of your local airport stack of operators - we reward people who give us fresher information. (See example airport here.)

#2 - Be On Top - Choose your airport sponsorships wisely by using tools like this. Top placement, be it through Airport Sponsorship (static help) or Updating (dynamic help) can get you one extra trip per week, per month, per year… that otherwise, you wouldn’t have flown.

#3 - Aircraft Management - Firms and individuals looking for aircraft managers seek firms that have a concerted effort to be seen. Updating more often simply leads you to being seen more.

A good example of a heavy updater and maximum utilization customer is Martinair, of Richmond, VA. They’ve been pushing charter, management and aircraft sales through the site since 2004. Take a look at the descriptive text below each aircraft, the management overtures and the orange boxes below the aircraft that are for sale.

Updating the fleet has to be routine to keep our planes before the public.

Keep the empty legs before the public!!! I had a good match up from a customer whose wife had heart rhythm problems and wanted to get back fast—-we had a plane at Jackson Hole, and we were in Lacross Wisconsin in a couple hours picking her up and bringing her back to washington to see her doctor!!! Now we are matching another empty leg up to bring her mother to visit her!!
